Age Restrictions In Paintball

Are you looking to plan an action-packed stag event? Or hoping to book your kids birthday party without any fuss? Well luckily for you, the adrenaline fuelled game of paintball can be enjoyed by a range of ages, as it should be. You’ll find paintball venues try to keep the limitations for who can play at a minimum, but of course we still need to consider everyone’s safety.  Age limits vary between paintball venues, so make sure to check our website before booking!

What ages can play paintball?

All paintball venues will allow anyone over the age of 18 to play paintball without any issues. However, for those younger players, a parent/guardian will be required to sign a permission form to allow their entry.  Most locations will offer paintball from the age of around 12 years and up, also known as ‘junior paintball’. Don’t be deceived by the name, the equipment used is all the same as we know these kids will want to feel like real action men when they step into the game zones.

Now, for those who are slightly younger, you haven’t been forgotten about, don’t worry! You can experience something usually referred to as ‘Low Impact’ which is a young players version of paintball. The biggest worry for parents is ‘will it hurt the kids’, which is why for those aged 8 – 11 years old, this version of paintball is suitable, making it perfect for kid’s parties. The only differences are the slightly smaller game zones and the lighter paintball markers which fire at a lower velocity. All the excitement of a normal paintball game, with none of the pain!

Younger than 8?  Some centres are now offering a form of Paintball called ‘Gel Paintball’ for ages 6 years and above where the children get the taste of Paintball but with very soft gel paintballs being fired at one another.

Do I need to be an Athlete to play?

No, not at all! Paintball is aimed at everyone, no matter their fitness levels. Obviously, being in shape can help with running around throughout the games, but the good thing about paintball, is you can play it at your own pace. Players are not expected to run in like headless chickens every time the whistle blows, every team needs someone to sit back and lay down covering fire!

So, next time you’re thinking of organising an event, consider paintball as it’s the perfect outdoor activity for all ages 8 years and above. It’s ideal for those thrill seekers, looking to test their physical and mental dexterity across the variety of paintball games. Game on!
