What should I wear to go Paintballing?

This is probably one of our most common questions that we get asked here at UK Paintball, it’s safe to say that we have seen all kinds of outfits. From both silly to sensible we have seen it all here at our paintball venues.

Whilst there is no perfect dress code, we do have some great suggestions that will ensure that you are fully prepped to have a super fun action-packed paintball session without ruining your brand-new white trainers!

To be fully ready to maximise your game experience we would recommend to always take the weather into consideration when planning ahead. The sessions do run outdoors in woodland areas so it is important to wear active and comfortable clothing that you can move freely around in and wouldn’t mind getting a bit of paint or dirt on.

What setting is the game played in?

It’s worth noting that all our games are based outdoors in forest settings, therefore you need to take this into consideration when it comes to wearing appropriate clothing for your paintball game.

As we know, weather conditions in the UK can change like the wind, so it pays off to be organised and ready for rain, hail or shine. Games will still go ahead in most weather conditions unless conditions are extreme and could impact the game, so do bare this in mind before packing your fancy and newest clothes.

Clothing for the top half

The main factor to take into consideration is to wear active, breathable clothing that you can move freely in. In cooler weather we would always suggest thermals for warmth or an old hoodie as this will cover the back of the neck and offer thicker protection to shield you from the paintball shots. In warmer months we would recommend wearing lighter layers so you don't get too hot!

Clothing for the bottom half

We would always suggest wearing loose, comfortable full-length trousers that you are able to move freely in such as joggers or track suit bottoms. Again, always aim to go for clothing that you wouldn’t mind getting dirt or paint splattered on.

In warmer weathers we would still recommend you to wear full length trousers as these tend to be the best for the event. We would suggest opting for light and breathable track pants or trousers that you are able to run about freely in.

Footwear

You must wear closed shoes that are both comfortable and protective and you can move about freely in, such as a pair of old trainers or walking shoes. Shoes that support the ankle are the best option when running over uneven terrain. Hiking boots that protect the ankle are also a good fit for the game!

Frequently asked Question’s

What gear is included?

Full face masks and camouflage overall suits are provided to all players. The overall aims to shield your clothes from any paint or mud and helps you to stay hidden.

Can I wear jewellery or bring to a paintball session?

As paintball is an action-packed game, we advise players to not wear jewellery on a game or carry personal valuables with them during the session as there is a likelihood of these items being lost or possibly being injured by them.

Are gloves included in our paintball games?

Gloves aren’t provided at the paintball games, but they are available to purchase at some of the venues. In winter months we would always recommend that you bring a pair of gloves with you for your session.

Will paintballs wash out of my clothes?

Firstly, the camo overalls offer great protection from paint splatters. So hopefully you won’t be coming home covered in paint! However, the paintballs should wash out in a regular wash.

Pro tips!

It’s always handy to bring some spare clothing on a very wet and muddy day to change into especially in cooler seasons.

Additionally, another great tip is to bring some spare bin bags to pop down on car seats and to put used clothes and shoes from the game in after the game to avoid mud getting in unwanted areas!
