Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How many paintballs do I need?
    As a guideline, an average usage is approximately 500-600 paintballs per player on a Full Day and 300-400 paintballs per player on a half day. This is very individual, as one player can shoot a lot more paint than another.
  2. Can I bring my own paintballs?
    Unfortunately not. You can only use paintballs provided by the venue on the day of your event. This is to ensure that you are using the correct paintballs for the equipment provided
  3. Do the paintball sites open 7 days a week?
    Normal paintball events days are Saturdays & Sundays. Games can run during the week but the venue must meet a minimum requirement of players to operate a days play. The minimum is usually approximately 20 players, please contact us on 0330 043 4122 for any weekday requests.
  4. How old do you have to be to play paintball?
    Most venues have a minimum age requirement between 10 and 12 years of age for the paintball sessions. Please check the minimum age on the relevant venue page before booking. For those younger than the minimum age, most of our centres also offer Low Impact Paintball or Laser sessions, which start from 7 years old.   5. Should parents stay on paintball site with children?
    UKPaintball use a number of paintball sites, and each paintball site has its own specific requirements. Certain sites do require parents / guardians to be present at the paintball site, but a vast majority at our sites only requires parents to sign a parental guardian certificate.
  6. Can I change the date of my paintball event?
    Paintball bookings can be amended subject to the usual UKPaintball terms and conditions.
  7. Can I change the number of players on my paintball booking?
    Paintball players can be added at any time before the event, as long as there is available spaces left. Players can be removed from the booking at any time. Refunds are subject to the usual UKPaintball terms and conditions.
  8. Can I arrive later than the start time for my paintball event?
    NO. You must arrive promptly for your start time given to you on your confirmation email. All the equipment is issued at the start of the session and most importantly a safety briefing will take place which you must attend. Failure to attend the safety briefing can result in you being turned away from the paintball venue.
  9. When should we make our paintball booking?
    We recommend that all paintball bookings be confirmed 2-3 weeks prior to your desired date to give you the best chance of availability.
  10. How long does a paintball day last?
    Full Day events usually last approximately 6-7 hours, and Half Day events last approximately 3-4 hours. Please check the timings for the paintball event when making a booking.
  11. What happens if we are late at our paintball site?
    You need to arrive for your given start time promptly. All your equipment will be handed to you on arrival. A safety briefing will also take place soon after your start time, miss the briefing and you may not be permitted to take part in the paintball event.
  12. Paintball, what happens when it rains
    Your paintball event will take place come rain or shine, or even snow. In the event of extreme weather conditions and the day being cancelled you will be notified with as much notice as possible.
  13. Is there an area at the paintball site for spectators?
    Every paintball site has a safety area. However, you cannot necessarily see a lot from here as the game zones can be some distance into the woodland. You can go along as a spectator but we try to discourage it as space is reserved for players and not spectators.
  14. What happens if a paintball player does not turn up?
    If players do not turn up on the day of the paintball event, the payment for that player's space would be forfeited. Full Day Players that fail to attend will also forfeit their 100 free paintballs. Paintballs are not transferable to other players.
  15. If Full Day players don't attend, can I have their 100 paintballs?
    No, Full Day players who fail to attend on the day will lose their 100 free paintballs and these paintballs are non-transferable.
  16. Can I bring my own equipment to paintball?
    In most cases the answer is Yes. If you take your paintball equipment along with you on the day, the Marshals will inspect it to see if it is suitable for use on site. Please note that the decision of the Marshals is final.
  17. Do children need adults to sign disclaimers for them at the paintball site?
    Groups with under 18’s are required to have a parent/guardian present to sign disclaimers on their behalf to take part in the paintball activity.
  18. Is proof of age required for children at the paintball site?
    It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian for that individual to be honest about the age of the person concerned. If the player is under age then they will not be covered by the venue's insurance for the paintball activity.
  19. Do all paintball sites offer bulk buy rates on paintballs?
    Most of the venues will offer bulk purchase discounts, but some will only sell per 100. Please check the relevant venue page for details on the paintball prices.
  20. What to wear for paintballing?
    We recommend wearing old clothes that you don’t mind getting muddy. And shoes that you can move about in i.e., trainers or walking boots. Please be advised the paintball event will be outdoors, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
  21. What do we need to bring with us to the paintball site?
    Most importantly - yourselves. Please have your paintball confirmation email to hand, either on a smartphone or printed out. Also bring a method of payment for any additional paintballs you use.
  22. Do paintball sites have storage for valuables?
    Some paintball sites have locker facilities. What most sites will do is have a valuables box for which you can place your belongings in and leave with the game day manager in the safety camp. We advise that you arrive with the minimum amount of valuables that you need as things can be lost in the woods and trying to find them can be very difficult. The venues are not responsible for loss or theft of any valuables.
  23. Do the paintball sites have showers?
    No, none of our paintball locations have shower facilities on site.
  24. Is lunch provided at the paintball site?
    Lunch is only available for purchase at selected paintball venues. Your lunch can vary from site to site, so please check your confirmation email for details on what food is provided at your chosen location.
  25. Do the paintball sites cater for vegetarian & dietary requirements?
    If the venue does provide food on site, most of our paintball centres do offer alternate options for dietary requirements. Please check your confirmation email for details on what food is provided, and if you have any dietary requirements please let us know on 0800 170 1555.
  26. How can we pay for additional paintballs on the day?
    All venues will accept payments for paintballs via cash or using a credit / debit card.
  27. Do paintball sites accept credit cards?
    All the paintball sites will accept credit or debit card payments.
  28. Is alcohol permitted on the paintball site?
    The consumption of alcohol during the day is strictly forbidden. We understand that some of you will be celebrating on the day and may have alcohol with you but we ask that you wait until you are off site to begin your party. If you are found to be intoxicated on arrival or are found consuming alcohol on site you will be asked to leave the paintball site. There is a zero tolerance policy to drugs at every site.
  29. Can I get to the paintball site by public transport?
    Please bare in mind that most paintball sites are situated in very rural areas which may have very limited transport links. The majority of the sites are within close distance to over ground train stations but you could still be left with a short cab journey. All address details are on the website so please check before your event day.
  30. Can I leave the paintball game early?
    Players are required to stay on site for the duration of the paintball session they have booked for. Most of our sites offer a choice between Full Day and Half Day sessions so please pick the appropriate session for your group.
  31. How many players are there on a paintball team?
    This can vary depending on the size of the paintball venue. Some sites can play up to 30 players in each team. It is really down to exactly how many people are booked on the day.
  32. Will I be on the same team as my friends for the paintball activity?
    The marshals on the day will obviously do their best to keep people within teams that they are happy with during the paintball session. Please be aware that you are likely to have other groups in the games with you.
  33. Can I just do half a day paintballing?
    Most of our centres will offer players the choice of a Full Day or Half Day paintball session. For details on the available sessions, please see the relevant venue page.
  34. Is there a limit to how many people can book the paintball event?
    The only real limit will be the capacity of the paintball venue, which does vary from site to site. Remember all bookings are subject to availability so if you have a large group please try and confirm the booking as soon as possible, otherwise you may miss out on places.
  35. Does Paintball Hurt?
    If played properly, paintball isn't a particularly painful sport. The players will feel the paintballs hitting them, but are unlikely to cause much pain. It's important that players follow the safety rules on site, and the guidance given by the marshals on the day
  36. Is Paintball Safe?
    Yes, paintball is a safe sport. All players will go through a full safety briefing before starting the event, so it's important to listen to the guidance given. The venues have all conducted risk assessments for the sessions, and the marshals will be present throughout the games to assist if needed.
  37. What is the difference between paintball and airsoft?
    The main difference is what you are firing at each other. With Paintball, you fire paint pellets, which break upon impact. In Airsoft, you fire plastic pellets, which can tend to be slightly more painful. Both sports are incredibly popular, and provide great action scenarios.
  38. How long does a paintball game last?
    This can depend on the type of paintball game being played. But on a standard game date, we usually find most games to last around 15-20 minutes each.
  39. How much does Paintball cost?
    Our admission prices range from £9.99 - £14.99 per person depending on the type of session you are booking. With paintballs then purchased on the day of the event. Paintballs are usually priced between £7.00 - £10.00 per 100, with then some larger bulk rate offers which usually provide good discounts.
